About the workshop
Spend three days on site with Patrick Handley of Waterscapes Australia, learning the craft of pondless waterfall construction the way it should be done. This is a fully hands-on training experience: you won't sit through slides and theory, you'll be building a real pondless waterfall from the ground up.
Patrick is a Certified Aquascape Contractor and one of Australia's most experienced pondless waterfall builders. He runs this workshop the same way he runs his own job sites: practical, technical, and grounded in what actually works.
What you'll learn
Across the three days, you'll work through the full build process:

✅ Rock selection and placement
✅ Waterfall design principles and water flow
✅ Pump sizing and plumbing
✅ Filtration setup
✅ Finishing touches and natural rockwork detailing

By the end of the workshop, you'll have built a complete pondless waterfall and have the confidence to take on your own builds back home.
What to bring
- Sturdy work boots
- Long pants and a long-sleeve shirt
- Sun protection (hat, sunscreen)
- Wet weather gear (Sunshine Coast in June, so cover your bases)
- A notebook if you like to take notes
- Camera or phone for capturing the build steps
Accommodation
Kureelpa is in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, around 15 minutes from Yandina and 30 minutes from Maroochydore. Plenty of accommodation options nearby, from short-stay rentals in Eumundi and Yandina to hotels along the coast.
